"Dual agency" is a term in real estate that means one agent represents both the buyer and the seller in the same transaction. While this can be convenient, it can also be tricky because the agent has to be fair to both parties and avoid taking sides or showing favoritism.
For example, imagine you want to sell your house, and your friend wants to buy a house. You both go to the same real estate agent for help. The agent helps you list your house for sale and also helps your friend find a house to buy. If your friend ends up wanting to buy your house, the agent would be a "dual agent" since they are representing both you and your friend in the transaction.
"Wit & Whimsy with the Dumb Ox: Unlocking Knowledge with Rhyme:"
In the land of buying and selling homes,
An agent helps people, so they're not alone.
But sometimes a twist, a turn, or a bend,
Puts the agent in the middle, helping both ends.
A "dual agent" they're called, it's quite the affair,
Representing both buyer and seller with care.
Being fair and balanced, they must always try,
To make sure each party gets their piece of the pie.
Imagine a house, so lovely and grand,
A seller wants it sold, as they have planned.
A buyer comes along, their dreams to unfold,
And the agent helps them both, brave and bold.
But tricky it gets, when the lines start to blur,
The agent must manage, both him and her.
Dual agency, a dance, a delicate sway,
Guiding both parties, to a deal they can weigh.
